Dear Shaker Figure Skating Club members-

We hope this message finds you well and safe! We miss seeing everyone at the rink and are hoping for a safe return to skating in the near future.

As you know SFSC is dependent on the City of Shaker Heights re-opening for us to have access to the rink. As our president, Miki Graban has been in communication with the leaders of the City and Thornton.  There are no immediate plans to open Thornton Rink this coming month but they remain optimistic that it will open in late summer or early fall under specific guidelines.  USFSA is providing guidance on how to re-open rinks and clubs and we are adhering to all their recommendations.

A few rinks in the area have opened – Winterhurst and Strongsville – and another is likely to open in the next week – Gilmour.  Know that SFSC members will need to have a current membership to skate on any area rink as well as Thornton when it does open.

Your current membership expires June 30, 2020, and as we head into summer it’s time to renew your membership for 2020–2021.  This year, we are pleased to give every new and returning SFSC member a free face mask printed with the Shaker Figure Skating Club logo if membership renewal is complete by August 1.  Hometown Threads, a local business, is helping us create these masks which will be delivered or mailed later this summer.

We continue to be pleased with the online membership renewal system through Entryeeze.  This system allows for the ease of real-time membership renewal and the use of credit cards.  We’ve worked hard to make sure that this online process is simpler and more streamlined that the earlier paper system.  However, as with any system, please be patient as we work out any nuances that may arise. The membership categories and pricing are unchanged from the previous year.
