I hope everyone is doing well- the deadline to get the early sign up and volume discounts for SFSC Spring Ice packages is rapidly approaching (Monday at midnight). Also, you can also now cancel and book individual spring ice sessions. Thanks to everyone for a great fall season and looking forward to seeing you in the new year on the ice at Thornton.
Details:
THE ICE- nearly identical to our Fall season (some levels and restrictions have changed- see below) running from January 2 through June 10th
Weekday mornings from 6-8AM
Monday evenings from 445-645PM and Silver Clinic (for higher level skaters) from 645-715PM
Wednesday evenings from 445-715PM
Friday afternoons from 445-545PM
Friday Bronze Clinic from 545-615PM (for younger, earlier level skaters)
Saturday Off Ice Strength and Stretch with Daria- 10-1045AM
Saturday mornings from 11AM-1PM
All on-ice sessions are available in 30 minute increments. Some ice sessions are restricted by level and we have recently changed ice level restrictions. Please check Ice+ for details (and/or the detailed chart below). There are some days / times where we do not have our ice due to other programming at Thornton. See Ice+ for details. Information about our clinics is available on our website.
All packages are for the same day and time every week through our season.
THE PRICE*
Sign up early and often and save!
If you sign up for packages before December 20, 2022
– First 2 hours per week contracted, per family: $3 off per hour ($14 / hr price for members)
– Next 2 hours per week contracted, per family: $4 off per hour ($13 / hr price for members)
– Next 2 hours per week contracted, per family: $5 off per hour ($12 / hr price for members)
– Any ice contracted per week, per family, beyond 6 hours per week: $6 off per hour ($11 /hr price for members)
If you sign up for packages on or after December 20, the price is discounted $2 off per hour from a-la-carte pricing ($15 per hour for members). Packages must be contracted before January 15, 2023.
Packages can be paid in full at time of sign up or paid in installments.
All ice sessions will also be available on an a-la-carte basis for sign up starting on December 20th. The price is $17 per hour for members, $21 per hour for guests. (On-ice clinics are $17/$21 for 30 minutes). You will notice we are holding our member price but our guest price has gone up- sorry guests, but now the break-even on becoming an associate member is even lower. Ask us if you want details on associate membership.
WHAT ELSE IS NICE
All sign ups for both members and guests are done through Ice+. https://shakerfigureskatingclub.org/
All sessions can be cancelled before the start of the session for make up credits. Make up credits can be used for practice ice or clinics and are applied automatically when you sign up for individual sessions. Credits will be good until June 2023. Spring sessions will be available for cancel / reschedule starting on December 20th.

Package sign up is open starting today. Some of our sessions have been very well attended, especially weekday evening and Saturday sessions and we anticipate this continuing in the Spring. We highly suggest that you sign up for these sessions as soon as possible or you will risk experiencing disappointment like I did last week when I failed to secure tickets for a Taylor Swift concert (at least our technology works though).
Finally, to improve the performance of Ice+, and in accordance with the Club’s record retention policy, we will be archiving data from prior to 2022. If you ever need access to this information (how much did I spend on ice ?(dangerous question), when did my skater skate?, etc.) please let me know and I can pull for you.

* Skaters who have not passed Basic 5 can only skate on JUNIOR CLUB ice sessions while actively in a lesson and within arm’s length of coach the entire time
** Skaters who have passed Basic 5, but have not passed Pre-preliminary MITF can only skate on CLUB ice sessions while actively in a lesson and within arm’s length of coach the entire time
*** Off ice sessions are open to all skaters
**** Guest skaters that have not passed pre preliminary MITF will not be allowed to skate on any ice sessions. Membership is required for Basic level accommodation.
