CLUB ICE AVAILABLE AT THORNTON PARK STARTING NEXT WEEK!
We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work with the city on both protocols and agreement to ice times. We are pleased to announce that we are opening sign up for Club Ice for the next two weeks. Please read through this note, as there are a number of changes for the fall contract period.
Updates to procedures
- For the next two weeks, we are offering individual sessions for sign up (this may change as the year progresses). You will need to register for each session (versus “normal” when you register for a package for the same day and time each week).
- Our sessions will be limited to 15 skaters instead of 20 to allow for social distancing.
- Our ice is currently open to club members only (Home club and associate members) (Note this is a Thornton policy).
- We will not allow walk-ons, but you will be able to register for an individual ice session day of, provided that the session isn’t full.
- If you are unable to make a session that you are signed up for, you can “unregister’ for the session and receive make up time. We ask for a 24 hour cancellation window, but in extreme circumstances, please email the Ice Administrator and exceptions to the 24 hour rule will be decided on a case by case basis. Note: It is your responsibility to unregister from your session- no shows will not accrue make up time.
- We will no longer be using punch cards. Skaters with outstanding punch cards will be given a credit for the value that remains on their punch card. It will likely take us a few weeks to process these credits.
- We will be carrying over make up time from Spring 2020 that can be used for these sessions. It will likely take us a few weeks to carry over your make up time such that it is available for use.
- We will be using a new system (Note: not EntryEeze to manage ice reservations- see below).
New System
- We will be using a new system for registering for Ice Sessions and managing make up time.
- The system is web based- located at https://shakerfigureskatingclub.org/IceReservation
- You will be receiving your login information via email in the next few hours (check your SPAM folder). Note the email was sent to what is on file when you registered your membership on EntryEeze. If you don’t receive the email, or have trouble accessing the system, please contact the Ice Administrator (sfsciceadmin@gmail.com).
- The system currently includes the following functionality:
- Who is skating– a list of who is registered to skate for the next two upcoming days of ice. This is what the monitor will use to verify that the skaters in attendance are registered. If your skater’s name isn’t on this list, we don’t have your skater as registered for the session (and they won’t be allowed to skate).
- My ice– the listing of the sessions that your skater(s) is registered for. It is here where you can unregister from sessions for makeup time.
- Purchase individual sessions– This is for registering for new sessions. For sessions that require the skater to be at a certain level, it will filter what is available based on the latest test information in EntryEeze. If this is incorrect, please contact sfsciceadmin@gmail.com.
- My account– check and pay- This is where you will pay your balance for your ice. Note, this functionality is not available yet (but we will keep track of how much you owe and invoice you soon– don’t worry).
- My make up time– The listing of the transactions where you earned and used makeup time.
- My account history– A history of the financial transactions on your account.
Pricing
- Pricing for single sessions will be $17 per hour and prorated for longer or shorter sessions.
- When you settle your financial account (again- functionality coming soon), there will be a small administrative fee for using a credit card.
- Note, that we are trying to keep our ice competitively priced for our members, but at the same time balancing this with the additional costs of having fewer spots for contracting.
We anticipate that the times may vary slightly over the next few weeks, but they will eventually become more consistent. Additionally, we are planning on offering Bronze and Silver clinics as soon as the schedule allows us to. There will be no off-ice programs this fall offered in the Community Room as it will be closed. We are supporting our off-ice instructors who want to offer online training classes, more details to follow.
Please contact sfsciceadmin@gmail.com with any questions or if you have issues accessing the new system.
Thanks and happy skating!
