New Learn-to-Skate Instructor Seminar to be Held July 26

Hello,

The Brooklyn Figure Skating Club will be hosting a New Learn to Skate Instructor Coaching Seminar.  With the help of a Greater Cleveland Council of Figure Skating Clubs grant, we plan to offer training for skaters aged 13-20 who are interested in becoming coaches.  We will be focusing on topics like getting started in coaching, coaching best practices, and the framework of Learn to Skate USA.
Recently, we found that our club didn’t have enough qualified candidates to staff our learn to skate program.  The hope is that this program will produce more qualified learn to skate coaches and drive interest in coaching.  We have space for 20 skaters to sign up.  There will be one hour of on ice instruction and 2 hours of off ice instruction as part of the seminar.
We wanted to open this seminar up to all skaters in the Cleveland area who have an interest in coaching someday.  The seminar will be July 26 from 12-3pm at the Brooklyn Recreation Center.  Please forward the seminar flyer and registration form to your club members.  We think this could benefit a lot of learn to skate programs.
Feel free to reach out with any questions.  Have a great day!
